Class 2

Once we are two years old we become Busy/Bigger Bees! We have so much to discover, finding out about all kinds of things with our inquisitive minds. “What happens when we paint the easel with glue?” “How do we fit jigsaws together?”

We can reach the toys ourselves and make our own choices. Sometimes we like to play with the cars and toy people, or have a look in the treasure baskets to see what we can find.

Things can get very messy during our favourite activities, especially when we print using our hands or feet. We discover what happens when we explore corn-flour and make models. Our easels are out all of the time for us to investigate paints, crayons, chalks, pencils, finger paint and objects to glue.

How exciting it is to play and splash in the water, bake cakes to share or build a tower with the wooden blocks! We have lots of fun in the sand, where we are encouraged to share and help each other build sandcastles with different types of containers. We play in the Role Play area with our friends where we count cups, wash up and even make drinks for each other. We enjoy practicing new skills such as dressing and undressing the dolls.

When we are feeling the need to have a rest, you can find us in the library either looking at books or having cuddles with our key person. Sometimes we all sit down to listen to stories from the big books, we even have hand puppets so we can use our imaginations to act out stories.

We are encouraged to use the potty or the toilet and have lots of fun washing our hands afterwards! As soon as we are ready, we can wear “big pants”.

We love to tap and clap along to simple rhythms and extend this using the “beat babies” resources.
