Education Places

Parents may be interested to know that the Nursery offers Government Funded places to children aged 3-5 years, for two and a half hours per day, five sessions a week. This is known as the Nursery Education Grant.
We also accept different kinds of childcare vouchers from employers, and parents may be entitled to Child Tax Credits.

As there is no legal requirement to attend the Local Authority Nursery or Primary School before the age of 5 years, children can enjoy the benefits of our excellent facilities and high staffing ratios up to that age.

With the unique early years education available at Thornaby Children’s Nursery, we aim to bridge the transition from the security of Pre-School to the more formal environment of the schoolroom. Our own experience has given us dozens of examples of children who, in this way, build a positive attitude to themselves and to learning.
