Ladybirds and Butterflies
As three year olds, we explore lots of new and exciting things in the Ladybird and Butterfly Room. In our Role Play area, we have fun dressing up and using our imaginations to become Police Officers, Nurses or Fire-Fighters. When we try on traditional costumes, we learn about different cultures.
We all enjoy singing number rhymes and songs as well as listening to music tapes. Sharing stories with our friends is one of our favourite activities. We use our outside area to splash in the water, explore the puddles and learn about floating and sinking, quantity, area and volume, whilst enjoying ourselves with the variety of toys. We explore the outside area through digging and planting seeds and bulbs with our friends. We are amazed when we see them grow.

In the art and craft area, we learn to do a variety of different creative activities, and practice our mark making with chalks, crayons and pencils and practice our scissor control. We create pictures and models from “junk” which we proudly display for all to see.
There are lots of new things to discover on the computer. Baking is also fun, especially when we taste what we have made! Tai Chi/Yoga and dance sessions help us to understand how to keep our bodies fit and healthy.
We serve ourselves at lunchtime and prepare our healthy fruit snack to share. We surprise our parents with our French phrases.
Whatever is happening, our key person makes sure we have lots of fun at Nursery. Whilst we enjoy ourselves, they provide us with the best possible start before we spread our wings to go to school.
